ELIGIBLITY / ADMISSION CRITERIA
Placement of defendants in the program shall only be by an
order  of the Court; and be deemed appropriate by admis-
sions staff via a  screening process and shall meet the follow-
ing criteria for admission:

         

To place an offender in the Center:

  • call Admissions  Coordinator to do a screening  and ask
    about bed availability;
  • send packet to Admissions Coordinator;
  • receive an acceptance letter on your client;
  • amend conditions of community supervision to order of-
    fender into SATF;
  • send all information listed on the transmittal form to the    
    Admissions Coordinator.

  • must be 18 years of age or older;
  • must not be a Title V offender;
  • defendant matches the profile of offenders committed to jail /prison or demonstrates high risk/high needs;
  • defendant did not use a weapon;
  • defendant must be motivated to improve self & be committed to treatment afforded by the SATF;
  • must be male defendant only;
  • exhibits drug/alcohol abuse problems and has high risk/needs or can   benefit from the treatment models utilized by the     treatment center;
  • defendant shall not have additional court cases pending in Montgomery County or any other county in the State of Texas that would affect the  program facilitation of his treatment plan;
  • severe case of drug or alcohol abuse in which detoxification is necessary must be treated and released by a certified medical authority prior to   admission;
  • defendant must be employable and in suitable health;
  • defendants suffering from a mental disorder, a history of violent behavior or suicidal tendencies which the program is unequipped to handle, are ineligible for admission and may be released unsuccessfully if condition appears after admission;
  • defendant must agree in writing to comply with the program rules and regulations. 

 

 

 

In addition to the criteria listed before, probation agents for defendants from Judicial Districts outside of Montgomery County must provide the following:

  • physical exam of the defendant completed within the past 30
  • days  verifying suitable health for employment;
  • Pre/post sentence investigation report of the defendant;
  • Strategies for Case Work Supervision Assessment of the defendant (if available);
  • Copies of original judgment and any orders amending probation,
  • offense reports and data sheet on the defendant;
  • any progress reports/discharge summary, psychological testing results from defendants prior stay at any residential program;
  • provide for defendant’s transportation to the treatment center for
  • a personal interview unless waived for good cause by the Center 
  • Director or his/her designee;
  • have a written agreement for services on file with Montgomery County.
  • As of September 1, 1999 MC-CCF accepts offenders who are charged with intoxicated manslaughter.
